Past, Present, and Future – Discover Hälsinglands Museum

You’ll find Hälsinglands Museum (Museum of the province of Hälsingland) in the heart of Hudiksvall, housed in a former bank palace that was converted into a museum in 1937. Both cultural history and art-focused exhibitions are featured, aiming to explore our history and present in various ways.

The museum is a regional institution where you can experience acclaimed exhibitions, educational programs, collections, and archives. Two major permanent exhibitions offer historical perspectives on the region: Changing Patterns, showcasing the long history of textiles, and The Master from Fläcka, providing insight into the religious imagery of the Middle Ages.

The museum is a natural meeting place that highlights diverse narratives about human history, society, and existential questions. Active social dialogue, along with interdisciplinary and democratic work across boundaries and norms, creates a space for the questions of the future.
